About The Elephant Espresso Martini Bar
Welcome to The Elephant, Philadelphia’s first and only Espresso Martini Bar, nestled in the heart of Rittenhouse Square. What started as the seasonal pop-up White Elephant has grown into a lush, velvet-lined cocktail lounge offering over ten creative twists on the classic espresso martini. Savor elevated New American dishes in a plant-draped, artfully styled space that transforms throughout the year, from Pink Elephant for Valentine’s Day to Green Elephant for St. Patrick’s, and back to White Elephant during the holidays. Whether you’re stopping by for happy hour or planning a glamorous night out, The Elephant delivers a one-of-a-kind cocktail experience in one of Philly’s chicest neighborhoods, always with a nod to espresso culture.

Came for trivia night and it did not disappoint. Kyle runs the show and he’s genuinely the best — great energy, funny, keeps things moving. Food was way better than I expected for a cocktail bar, actually worth ordering. Service was a little slow/inattentive, but honestly the trivia and the food made up for it. Great vibe overall, will be back for Kyle’s trivia again.

I had a layover in Philly and was recommended this place as an espresso martini lover! The ambiance was amazing and you were able to hear your own conversation. The buffalo chicken dip and the cheese curds were a delicious bite to have. Food came quickly and was hot. I wish that all of the espresso martinis were a part of the happy hour as there were so many flavors but that was my only complaint.

i LOVE this place AND that i live next door!! such a cute vibe with really good cocktails. even if you don’t like espresso martinis there are other things on the menu and the decor alone makes it worth it! also sara is the best if you’re sitting at the bar when she’s working. i asked her to surprise me with a drink and she killed it. highly recommend their happy hour and ask for sara!!

The place looks great online and maybe in person. It was packed when I went on a Saturday. The crowd was not what I was expecting and they allow you to seat yourself, which you can only imagine how hectic that is. Sitting at the far end of the bar felt like being outside because none of the bartenders…tended to us. There was some attitude but hey, maybe it was a busy night. The espresso martinis were good. Stay clear of the salted caramel, too salty. The nutty one was great and comes with a biscuit. I’ll try again when it’s not so crowded, hopefully.

This bar has the best staff, best drinks, and great vibe. This is a real review, me and my wife come to Philly for food and events and this has been my favorite place by far. Prices are reasonable and it is known for its Espresso Martinis. I had a margarita and a chocolate martini and the bartender Shady J was awesome. This my new favorite spot, me and my wife will come to this pace every time.
